Your LinkedIn Is Basically a CV for AI Now — Here’s How to Use That
Okay, bestie, we need to talk about something that is going to completely change how you think about your LinkedIn strategy. Three major studies just dropped, and together they’re telling us one very loud, very clear thing: if you want your brand to show up in AI search results, you need to be living, breathing, and posting on LinkedIn like your visibility depends on it, because it does.
Semrush analyzed 89,000 LinkedIn URLs cited by ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity, and LinkedIn ranked as the second most cited domain across all three platforms. It appeared in roughly 11% of AI responses on average. That means when someone asks an AI tool a business question, LinkedIn content is showing up in the answer almost as often as Wikipedia. Let that sink in for a second. Your LinkedIn posts are literally competing with Wikipedia for AI attention.

The study also found that educational, original content in the 500-2,000 word range earns the most citations, and that consistency matters more than virality, about 75% of cited authors posted five or more times in a four-week period. Meanwhile, Search Engine Land reported a separate analysis of 30 million sources showing Reddit, YouTube, and LinkedIn as the top three cited platforms across every major AI tool. And Visibility Labs found that AI Overviews now appear on 14% of shopping queries (up 5.6x in just four months) meaning AI-generated answers are now showing up before traditional search results for a huge slice of buying intent.
At Maroon Marketing, this is the kind of data that gets us genuinely excited, because it means the brands investing in consistent, high-quality content on the right platforms right now are building an enormous moat. AI isn’t just changing search. It’s rewarding the marketers who’ve been doing the work all along. So if your LinkedIn has been an afterthought, consider this your wake-up call and your competitive advantage.
